KONSEP PENDERITAAN DAN PENGHIBURAN DALAM PERSPEKTIF TEOLOGI KITAB AYUB

Kitab Ayub merupakan salah satu teks paling kompleks dalam Alkitab yang mempertanyakan fondasi teologis tradisional mengenai penderitaan, keadilan ilahi, dan nasib orang benar. Di tengah dominasi pemikiran retributif dalam konteks kebudayaan Ibrani kuno yang memandang penderitaan sebagai konsekuensi dari dosa narasi Ayub menghadirkan pergulatan eksistensial yang tajam: mengapa orang benar bisa menderita tanpa sebab yang jelas. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis secara teologis konsep penderitaan dan penghiburan melalui pendekatan studi naratif-kualitatif terhadap Kitab Ayub. Metode ini menelusuri struktur narasi, respons karakter, serta simbolisme yang terkandung dalam teks, sambil memperhatikan dimensi historis dan reflektif dalam pembacaan teologis. Temuan utama penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penderitaan dalam Kitab Ayub tidak dapat dijelaskan secara simplistik melalui hukum tabur-tuai atau retribusi moral. Sebaliknya, penderitaan menjadi arena di mana iman diuji, dimurnikan, dan diperdalam melalui relasi yang jujur dan terbuka dengan Allah. Peran Allah, Iblis, serta ketiga sahabat Ayub menampilkan dinamika kompleks antara keheningan ilahi, penghakiman manusia, dan pemulihan anugerah. Kesimpulannya, Kitab Ayub menegaskan bahwa penderitaan bukanlah bentuk hukuman ilahi yang otomatis, melainkan dapat menjadi sarana pematangan iman dan pewahyuan karakter Allah yang melampaui logika manusia. Penelitian ini menawarkan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman teologi penderitaan yang lebih mendalam dan relevan dalam konteks pastoral dan spiritualitas kontemporer.
